Peskov said Putin is safe amid reports of recruitment of militants

There are no plans to reduce the publicity of Russian President Vladimir Putin amid reports of US plans to send militants to the CIS and Russia to carry out terrorist attacks, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“No, no reduction in publicity is planned. The security of the president and all persons who are objects of state protection is ensured at the proper level, taking into account all risks and dangers, ”Peskov answered questions about whether it is planned to strengthen the security of state structures in Russia as a whole and whether there will be changes in ensuring the protection of the president or his publicity will be reduced in relation to such threats.

Earlier today at the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reportedthat the United States military is recruiting jihadist fighters to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia and the CIS countries. According to the SVR, in January 2023, 60 militants were selected who have experience of participating in hostilities in the Middle East. Now they are being trained at the American base at Al-Tanf in Syria, according to Russian intelligence services.

The Foreign Intelligence Service clarified that the United States plans to drop militants in small groups on Russian territory “in the near future.” It is noted that they are instructed to carry out terrorist attacks against diplomats, civil servants, security officials and personnel of the armed forces. The SVR said that such actions “put Washington on a par” with international terrorist groups, and pointed to the “final loss of any moral principles” in the US security forces.

In early February, it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine began to form assault brigades from the military, border guards and police to seize Crimea and Donbass. The project was called “Offensive Guard”. Then Peskov, commenting on this news, assuredthat the security of the Crimea is provided reliably. Donbass is not fully protected yet, so the special operation continues, the Kremlin spokesman said.
