Sochi hosted the final competition of the SAMBO to School project, which was attended by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratyev and Aleksey Kopaygorodsky, head of the resort. They welcomed young athletes from the Krasnodar Territory team. Among the 30 members of the team are 10 from Sochi.
“This sport is our national treasure. It forms an unbending will that stays with athletes for life,” said Alexei Kopaygorodsky.
As a result of the competition, the Kuban team became the winner in the team event. Young sambists from the Krasnodar Territory have 11 medals. Sochi schoolchildren became winners in the section GTO “Self-defense without weapons”.
Remember, the competition SAMBO was held for four days at a specially converted site of the Bolshoi sports complex. 17 teams from 14 regions of the country came to Sochi to participate in the tournament.
