The Governor announced the imminent exit of PMC “Wagner” from the Voronezh region

The movement of units of PMC “Wagner” through the territory of the Voronezh region is completed, it takes place in a regular manner and without excesses, said the governor of the region Alexander Gusev.

“After the final resolution of the situation, we will remove the restrictions imposed. We will inform you about this additionally, as well as about the measures that we will take to eliminate and compensate for the damage,” wrote Gusev in his Telegram channel. He thanked the residents of the Voronezh region for their endurance and noted the professionalism of the law enforcement agencies.

On June 24, Gusev urged residents not to use the M-4 Don highway, as well as regional and local roads. He reported that within the framework of the counter-terrorist operation on the territory of the Voronezh region, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were carrying out operational and combat measures.

On the evening of June 23, in social networks associated with the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, on his behalf, it was announced about a missile attack on one of the rear camps of a military company. The Ministry of Defense said that reports of strikes are not true and are “an informational provocation.” Then “Wagner” blockaded Rostov-on-Don and took control of the city’s military installations. The Investigation Department of the FSB of Russia opened a criminal case on the organization of an armed rebellion against Prigozhin. Against the backdrop of the situation around PMC Wagner, the authorities of the Russian regions began to impose restrictions on movement and cancel mass events. On the evening of June 24, the Kremlin reported on the agreements reached with Prigogine. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held talks with him, Prigozhin agreed to take measures to de-escalate the situation.
