The Government of the Russian Federation approved a resolution to increase subventions for healthcare in regions with the most difficult climatic and geographical conditions, reported in the press service of the Cabinet.

The corresponding resolution was approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The volume of subventions for the provision of compulsory medical care to citizens will be increased in 2023-2025. Funds in the amount of almost 15 billion will be received by Yakutia, the Kamchatka Territory, the Chukotka Autonomous District, the Magadan Region and the Nenets Autonomous District. Next year, 4.6 billion rubles will be sent to the regions, in 2024 – 4.9 billion rubles, in 2025 – 5.2 billion rubles. As explained in the government, the source of funding will be insurance premiums for compulsory health insurance.

“Changes have also been made to the methodology for distributing subventions from the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund to the budgets of its territorial funds in terms of increasing the price differentiation coefficient for budgetary services from 5.5 to 6.5,” the press service said.

Andrey Makarov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, said that next year, healthcare spending will double compared to the pre-pandemic year 2019, by 2022 – by 19.4%.
