The government will allocate almost 1.8 trillion rubles to the development of the Northern Sea Route until 2035

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved plan development of the Northern Sea Route until 2035. It will include more than 150 events, including the construction of coal and liquefied natural gas terminals, as well as a port hub in Vladivostok to organize transit traffic. In total, almost 1.8 trillion rubles will be allocated to finance projects.
The development plan for the Northern Sea Route includes the construction of the following facilities:
- terminal of liquefied natural gas and gas condensate “Utrenny”,
- oil terminal “Bukhta Sever”,
- coal terminal “Yenisei”,
- onshore and hydraulic structures to provide the Baimskoye field,
- marine transshipment complexes of liquefied natural gas in the Kamchatka Territory and the Murmansk Region,
- port-hub for organizing transit traffic in Vladivostok,
- transport and logistics hub in the seaport of Korsakov on Sakhalin,
- bunkering and maintenance bases in the ports of Tiksi and Dikson.
It is also planned to develop the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk transport hubs. A separate section of the document is devoted to the creation of icebreaker fleet vessels, including the lead icebreaker of the Leader project, and the development of Arctic shipbuilding and ship repair production facilities.
The plan provides for measures to build a rescue fleet of 46 ships and equip the Arctic emergency rescue centers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with helicopters. It was instructed to create an Arctic satellite constellation that provides hydrometeorological and navigational support for shipping.
The Northern Sea Route is the shortest sea route between the European part of Russia and the Far East. Passes through the seas of the Arctic Ocean (Kara, Laptev, East Siberian, Chukchi) and serves the ports of the Arctic and large rivers of Siberia. The length of the Northern Sea Route is 5.6 thousand km.
