The government will allocate 15 billion rubles to repair roads in the regions

The Russian government will allocate about 15 billion rubles. for the repair and maintenance of roads in the regions, said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“We will allocate about 15 billion rubles. from the budget for the maintenance and current repair of highways of regional and local importance, including the road network. That is, those routes that pass in neighborhoods and courtyards that residents use daily,” the prime minister said (quote according to TASS).

According to him, this will allow “to put in order more than 20,000 km of highways, access roads, various congresses and exits.” Mishustin added that President Vladimir Putin had previously set the task of organizing such work everywhere.

In early June, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev informedthat in 2023 it is planned to carry out a major overhaul of 761 km of roads and 26 artificial structures on them in new regions. He stated that almost 75 billion rubles would be allocated for these purposes.

April 28, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin declaredthat the restoration of regional highways in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will take three years.

On September 30, 2022, the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions became part of Russia. In May of this year, Mishustin said that the main focus of the government’s work is the integration of new regions of the Russian Federation. During his February address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to build up a large-scale program of socio-economic recovery and development of new regions of the Russian Federation.
