RUB 1 billion will be allocated to connect houses of privileged categories of citizens to gas networks as part of the social gasification program. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on March 7 (.pdf). In total, 57 Russian regions will receive funds.

It is expected that, using the allocated funds, program participants will be provided with a subsidy for the purchase of equipment and connection of their homes to gas networks. Its size will be at least 100 thousand rubles. In addition, now the networks will be laid to the boundaries of plots with a house in gardening partnerships located inside gasified settlements.

Subsidies under the social gasification program will be received by:

  • participants in a military operation and members of their families;
  • veterans of the Great Patriotic War;
  • parents with many children;
  • citizens with low incomes.

“I ask the heads of regions to keep the implementation of social gasification under special control. Everything should be organized as conveniently and understandably as possible for people. We need to help them go through all the formal procedures, promptly responding to their requests,” said Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.

In 2023, more than 12 thousand households were connected through targeted payments under the gasification program. According to Mr. Mishustin, the total number of concluded contracts for free supply of highways to sites exceeded 1.1 million. To date, 900 thousand contracts have already been fully implemented.

The social gasification program has been launched for more than two years. In November 2022 the government approved a resolution according to which the social gasification program becomes unlimited. In total, during the implementation of the program, more than 500 thousand private houses were connected to gas. In February 2024, President Vladimir Putin announced about plans to gasify the Kamchatka Territory, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Karelia and some other areas using liquefied natural gas. As of January 1, 2023, the gasification level in Russia was 73%.
