The government redistributed vacancies for students participating in the SVO

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree according to which students participating in the special operation will be able to transfer to a free form of education when redistributing vacancies in universities. This will be possible even if there are no vacancies in their field of study, the press service of the government said.
“The rules imply the possibility of transferring vacancies from one specialty, training area or an enlarged group of professions to another. Thus, an economics student will be able to switch to free education at the expense of a budgetary place that is available at a history or any other faculty, ”the government explained (quote from RIA Novosti).
The basis for the transfer will be the application of the student, the decision will be made by a special collegial body of the university. The redistribution will take place regardless of the form of education – full-time, evening or correspondence. Participants of the special operation who study on a paid basis will be given the opportunity, as a matter of priority, to switch to free education already in the 2023/24 academic year, spoke former Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
