The government of the Sverdlovsk region in its entirety resigned in connection with the inauguration of the newly elected governor. Yevgeny Kuyvashev, who entered the post of head of the region for the third time, signed a decree that the ministers would continue to work until the formation of a new government in the status of acting. About it Kommersant-Ural reported in the department of information policy of the Sverdlovsk region.
The abdication of the powers of the government before the newly elected governor on the day he takes office is a requirement of the federal law “On the General Principles of Organizing Public Power in the Subjects of the Russian Federation” and the charter of the region. The corresponding decision was formalized by a government decree of September 19. It was adopted immediately after the Governor’s inauguration ceremony. After that, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, who, according to the charter of the region, heads the government, signed a decree according to which the government will continue to operate until a new composition is formed.
Deputy governors and heads of ministries in the government of the Sverdlovsk region are appointed by decrees of the head of the region. Four of them are approved by the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region. At a meeting of the regional parliament on September 27, it is planned to consider candidates for the posts of First Deputy Governor (until today, September 19 – Alexey Shmykov), Minister of Finance (Alexander Starkov), Minister of Social Policy (Andrey Zlokazov), Minister for State Property Management of the Sverdlovsk Region ( the position was vacant, the powers were performed by Deputy Governor Sergei Zyryanov, but on September 16 he retired).
Evgeny Kuyvashev has been the head of the Sverdlovsk Region since 2012. On September 11, he was re-elected for a third term, gaining 65.78% of the vote.
