Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian government is studying the financial situation in Rusnano, which the day before stated about signs of bankruptcy. As Dmitry Peskov emphasized, there is a “big hole” in Rusnano’s reporting.

“Measures are being taken within the corporation to improve the situation, there have been some successes. But, if you remember, the President of the Russian Federation casually mentioned a fairly large hole in this corporation; it is indeed too big. The government is looking into this issue,” said the presidential press secretary.

In response to the question whether the Kremlin considers it justified to “save” Rusnano, Dmitry Peskov said that questions about the feasibility are decided at the government level. “Everyone knows: Rusnano has problems. This is an issue that the Cabinet of Ministers is very closely involved in,” he added.

Yesterday, October 4, Interfax with reference to the Rusnano report reportedthat as of June 30, the volume of claims of the company’s creditors, excluding interest on loans and accumulated coupon income on bonds issued by the company, significantly exceeds the value of assets. In this regard, the company warned about the risks of bankruptcy.

During trading on the Moscow Exchange on the morning of October 4, quotes for bonds of the Rusnano company started to fall. In total, five issues of Rusnano corporate bonds are traded on the stock exchange, amounting to 37.08 billion rubles.
