Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree that introduces a temporary ban on the export of cartridges and shells from the country. The ban will affect civilian and service rifled weapons, as well as rifled firearms of certain calibers. It does not apply to the export of cartridges and cartridge cases for the needs of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as other troops and military formations.
According to the document (.pdf), the ban is valid until December 31, 2023. The decision is aimed at ensuring the protection of the interests of the state. The resolution was prepared as part of the execution of the presidential decree “On the application of special economic measures in the field of foreign economic activity in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation.”
