The government intends to introduce electronic passports for athletes by 2027

The Russian government has approved a strategic direction in the field of digital transformation of physical education and sports until 2030. A unified digital environment will be created and artificial intelligence technologies will be introduced. It is expected that electronic passports for athletes will appear by 2027.
The order approving the strategic direction was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reported government press service. The document implies the implementation of several projects.
What projects are planned to be implemented within the framework of the strategy:
- transition to electronic registration of children in sports schools through government services by 2028;
- introduction of electronic passports of athletes by 2027 for more effective selection of youth and increasing the effectiveness of sports training;
- accelerating the process of awarding sports titles and sports categories through digital technologies by 2030;
- integration of the federal digital platform “Physical Culture and Sports” with regional platforms;
- registration for compliance with the standards of the “Ready for Labor and Defense” complex through public services, implementation is scheduled for 2024.
The government notes that strategic directions are synchronized with state programs and national projects.
