The government has simplified the resettlement of compatriots from “unfriendly” countries

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a resolution simplifying the resettlement to Russia for compatriots living in “unfriendly states”. Now they can apply for participation in the state resettlement program not only in the country where they permanently reside, but also in the state of which they are citizens, or in the country of their actual residence.
Other innovations include:
- no need to translate and notarize documents where the entries are duplicated in Russian;
- the decision on participation in the state program of compatriots who arrived in the Russian Federation and received refugee status or temporary asylum on the territory will be made expedited – within 25 working days instead of 40;
- it is not necessary to present a birth certificate, information about education, work experience.
“Thus, we will help thousands of our compatriots and their families move quickly to live and work in Russia,” Mr. Mishustin said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers (quoted from site governments).
The program to assist voluntary resettlement to Russia of compatriots living abroad was adopted by Vladimir Putin’s decree in 2006. It is designed to facilitate the resettlement of people who found themselves outside the Russian Federation after the collapse of the USSR and who wish to return to the country.
March 30 President Vladimir Putin added in the program of resettlement of compatriots, the requirement of knowledge of the Russian language. You can confirm the level of proficiency with documents (for example, documents on education) or through an interview with a commission formed by the Ministry of the Interior. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia also developed a draft law designed to prevent foreigners from obtaining migration status through fictitious marriages or establishing paternity.
