The government has extended the quota for the export of scrap and ferrous metal waste

The Russian government has extended the tariff quota on exports of scrap and ferrous metal waste outside the Eurasian Economic Union until June 30, 2024, reports press service Cabinet

It is specified that the quota will be 600 thousand tons. When exporting scrap and ferrous metal waste within the quota, the duty will be 5%, but not less than €15 per ton, over the quota – no less than €290 per ton, the government reported.

Tariff quotas for the export of scrap and ferrous metal waste act from June 2022. The government explained the need to introduce quotas by preventing price increases on the domestic market and meeting the raw material needs of domestic metallurgical enterprises.
