The government has established a separate radio frequency band for drones

The Russian government has approved a decision on the distribution of radio frequencies to create a unified infrastructure for managing civilian drones. Resolution signed Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on September 14.

A separate radio frequency band will be in the range 5030-5091 MHz. “The decision is aimed at providing radio frequency resources to drone users, which is especially important for building a unified infrastructure,” the Cabinet of Ministers added.

It is clarified that civilian drones are used in a variety of industries, including agriculture, construction, energy, etc. In addition, UAVs are needed for environmental control, prevention of emergencies and man-made accidents.

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to approve the strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft in Russia for the period until 2030. It was noted that the strategy should identify priority directions for the development of the industry, market parameters, as well as a list of implemented activities, the volume and sources of their financing.

In April Putin admittedthat the volume of the unmanned aviation industry in Russia can reach 1 trillion rubles. He called the development of the unmanned aircraft industry a “very promising” area of ​​activity for the country. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak in the same month statedthat the share of domestic drones in the Russian market should grow from 24% in 2023 to 70% by 2030.
