The government has approved rules for providing free housing to certain categories of citizens living in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. According to documentthe priority form of implementation of the preferential program is a one-time payment for housing construction, and not the provision of free residential premises.
According to the government decree, the standard area for issued housing will be 33 square meters. m per person, 42 sq. m – for a family of two people, 18 sq. m – for each family member there are three or more people. The size of the lump sum payment (EDV) will be calculated using the formula: EDV = N x C (N is the standard for the total area of residential premises, C is the average market value of 1 sq. m).
The government decree was adopted in accordance with the presidential decree of June 6, 2023. According to it, residents of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions can receive housing or a one-time payment. We are talking about residents discharged from military service before September 30, 2022. To receive housing or payment, residents of the regions must be registered as needing housing. To do this, they need to permanently reside in the regions.
