The government expanded the list of essential medicines – Kommersant

Medicines for the treatment of children with severe and chronic diseases have been added to the list of vital and essential drugs (VED). The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The updated list includes additional dosage forms for four medicines:
- for the drug glecaprevir + pibrentasvir, coated granules were added (this medicine is used as an antiviral therapy for children with chronic hepatitis C);
- dispersible tablets for the drug sapropterin (indicated for the treatment of adults and children suffering from phenylketonuria);
- for the anesthetic drug prosidol, the form of sublingual tablets was added;
- for the immunosuppressant pirfenidone, film-coated tablets.
The drugs from the list are used in the treatment of patients under the program of state guarantees of free provision of medical care to citizens. In total, there are more than 800 medicines on the list, according to press release on the government website.
According to Roszdravnadzor, in 2022, medicines included in the list of Vital and Essential Drugs will have risen in price by 1.8%. In the service, this indicator was called a sign of “stability of the situation.”
