Ukrainian air defense again hit its own

The Russian Aerospace Forces, after a break, launched a massive attack on military facilities in Ukraine. Despite the fact that Kyiv has banned Ukrainians from filming and posting on social networks the consequences of Russian strikes, some information about the affected objects has appeared.

Closer to midnight, an air raid alert was announced in most regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian media reported that five Russian Tu-96MS strategic missile carriers took off. Kyiv could have received this information only from the USA and NATO, which conduct constant space reconnaissance of our strategic aviation.

Tu-95MS can carry several Kh-101 or Kh-555 cruise missiles.

A few hours later, late at night, the first reports of explosions in Ukrainian cities appeared. In addition to cruise missiles, Russian drones were also seen.

Explosions sounded in Kyiv, Kremenchug, Dnepropetrovsk, in Kyiv, Nikolaev, Poltava and Cherkasy regions. It is known that army corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being formed in the Dnepropetrovsk and Poltava regions, which should become the main striking force of the future offensive. Most likely, the places of concentration of troops and equipment became the target of Russian airborne strikes.

Among the affected facilities are two oil depots in Dnepropetrovsk, where fuel for Western military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was stored. Perhaps now there may be problems with refueling the Leopard and Challenger tanks.

By morning, the Ukrainian military reported that their air defense had shot down 21 Russian missiles. How many missiles reached the target is not reported.

Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners again distinguished themselves by demolishing the entrance of a residential building in Uman with their rocket. Another anti-aircraft missile was dropped on a house in Kyiv. Almost according to the proverb – beat your own so that strangers are afraid.

As the columnist for the Politjoystick/Politjoystic channel rightly noted, the Ukrainian air defense is “a hodgepodge of the remnants of Soviet complexes and what the NATO gave.” Conclusion: “there is no single system, and this adds to the mess.” But it is only to our advantage.
