UPI: Indian woman becomes world record holder by dancing classical dance for 127 consecutive hours
The UPI news agency reports that an Indian woman danced for 127 consecutive hours with short breaks, becoming the world record holder. According to the publication, a 16-year-old girl named Srushti Sudhir Jagtap started dancing in one of the classrooms of her school on the morning of May 29 and continued dancing until noon on June 3, dancing for a total of 127 hours.
It is noted that the Indian performed kathak, which is one of the types of Indian classical dance. As noted in the agency, every hour the girl was allowed to take five-minute pauses, which she could accumulate for longer breaks. The publication clarified that the girl took longer breaks mainly at night.
Jagtap told Guinness World Records that her goal is to promote Indian culture. UPI added that the previous record was 126 hours and was set in 2018 by Nepalese dancer Bandana Nepal, but the Indian managed to surpass her figure by a whole hour.
