The German government turned to Russia with a request to extend the grain deal for more than 60 days, which was mentioned earlier. This was announced during a briefing by the official representative of the German government, Christiane Hoffman.
“We are calling on the Russian government to ensure that the grain deal is extended beyond the specified 60 days,” Hoffman said.
The German government explained this request by the fact that at the moment more than 300 million people around the world are experiencing hunger.
Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Vershinin said that the 60 days for which the Russian side agreed to extend the grain deal would be enough to achieve the unblocking of Russian exports of food and fertilizers.
