Less than 100 members of the Georgian parliament expressed support for the removal of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, as a result of which the parliament failed to complete the impeachment procedure. The meeting is broadcast on the official website of the Georgian legislative body.
The voting results show that 86 parliamentarians spoke in favor of the impeachment of the Georgian president, and one more spoke out against it.
It is noted that in order to remove a national leader, at least 100 votes out of a total of 150 are required, which is exactly two-thirds of the country’s parliament.
