The General Staff warned about electronic subpoenas in the spring conscription

Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, head of the main organizational and mobilization department of the General Staff, said that during the spring conscription, Russians will be notified electronically for the first time. If this is not possible for technical reasons, the conscript will receive a regular paper summons.

“Employees of the military commissariats have been given the task in preparation for the spring conscription campaign, which begins on April 1, to alert citizens electronically,” Mr. Tsimlyansky said during briefingdedicated to the spring call.

On March 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decree about the spring call. It follows from the document that from April 1 to July 15, 147 thousand people should be called up for military service. Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, stated that the citizens whom will call into the army, they will not be sent to serve in the new subjects of Russia.

Ministry of Digital until April 1, 2024 should create a centralized database of Russians liable for military service. It should contain information about their level of education, place of residence, current mobile phone numbers, email addresses and information about available transport.
