Deputy Chief of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Vladimir Tsimlyansky conducted briefing, dedicated to the autumn call for citizens. The conscription in all regions of Russia will begin on October 1 and will last until December 31. The exception to the statute is the regions of the Far North, where citizens will begin to be called up for military service on November 1.
According to Vladimir Tsimlyansky, conscripts will begin to be sent from collection points on October 16. The term of military service upon conscription will be 12 months. The deputy chief of the General Staff Directorate emphasized that conscripts will not be sent to deployment points in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Military personnel undergoing conscription service will not be distributed to new regions to participate in military operations there, he assured.
“A third of them will be sent to training formations and military units, where within five months they will master modern military equipment and receive a military specialty. Upon completion of training, in accordance with the acquired skills, they will be sent to the troops,” Vladimir Tsimlyansky said.
“In conclusion, I note that all military personnel who have served the established terms of conscription military service will be promptly discharged and sent to their places of residence,” concluded the deputy chief of the main organizational and mobilization directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces.
In 2022, the autumn conscription in Russia began on November 1, a month later than usual, and took place against the backdrop of a partial mobilization announced in September. The number of conscripts during the autumn campaign amounted to 120 thousand people. During this spring conscription, 147 thousand people were recruited.
July 31, President Vladimir Putin signed a law that increases the fine for failure to appear at the military registration and enlistment office on a summons without a good reason (Article 21.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The maximum fine for individuals has been increased tenfold. From October 1, it will be 30 thousand rubles.
