Ukraine does not intend to cease fire during the New Year period, transmits “RIA Novosti” with reference to the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexei Gromov.

According to him, a “complete ceasefire” on the territory of the country and in the Donbass will come only after not a single Russian military “leaves on the ground.”

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov previously stated that the possibility of a truce with Ukraine during the New Year holidays is not being considered, no such proposals have been received.

On December 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during his address to the leaders of the G7 countries, named “three steps” that, in his opinion, could bring peace in Ukraine closer. The first step is to provide modern tanks, shells, artillery, etc. Providing support for energy, financial and social stability in Ukraine next year is the second step, the third is to implement the “peace formula” that the Ukrainian president proposed earlier.

Peskov has repeatedly spoken about Ukraine’s unwillingness to negotiate with Russia, as well as the denial of this type of regulation of the conflict by the Ukrainian side. Among other things, Ukraine at the legislative level introduced a ban on any negotiations with Russia.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
