In mid-December, the first part of the 2023-2024 season in the Russian Football Championship among Mir-RPL teams ended. The first part of the season ended with success for the Paris Nizhny Novgorod players, who made enormous progress when compared with the results of the last championship, when Sergei Yuran’s players had one foot in the First League. They managed to retain their place in the Mir-RPL only thanks to a victory in the play-offs over Rodina Moscow. Based on the results of 18 matches of the 2023-2024 season, FC Paris Nizhny Novgorod settled in 9th position, gaining 24 points.
The successes of Pari Nizhny Novgorod cannot be called random or based on luck. In the summer, the club from Nizhny Novgorod changed its roster, signing contracts with 17 new players. Sergei Yuran conveyed to the management of Paris Nizhny Novgorod that to improve results, serious changes are needed, both in the composition and strategy of the club. If previously the ambitions of Nizhny Novgorod were limited to maintaining a place in the Mir-RPL, now FC Paris NN wants to finish the season in the first half of the standings, trying to take a step forward every year.
General Director of Paris NN David Melik-Huseinov spoke about the club’s strategy.
“Before the start of the current season, Sergei Yuran and I were developing a strategy to together make a top club in Nizhny Novgorod. We need to take Pari NN to the top, this is the task we set for ourselves. We believe that we will succeed,” – said the general director of Pari NN.
