General Director of Fakel Voronezh Roman Askhabadze raised the important topic of holding matches in unfavorable weather conditions in December, proposing that the RPL consider the option of starting the championship earlier in the summer.

He expressed his opinion on the transition to the “spring-autumn” system. His proposal was supported at the general meeting of the RPL before the start of the season.

According to him, in the summer, Russian clubs rest a little less than European ones, and in the winter, on the contrary, the winter period in Russia is much longer. In his opinion, a summer start in early July would be a reasonable solution.

Let us remind you that the match of the 18th round of the MIR RPL between the local Fakel and the capital Dynamo ended in a draw 1:1. Having scored 21 points, Sergei Tashuev’s team took 11th place in the standings. The next championship games will take place in the spring.
