Today, the Gagarin Cup hand-to-hand combat tournament began at the Ust-Abakan Sports School, the District Administration reports. Deputy head of the municipality for social issues Oksana Fedorova wished victories and exciting fights to the participants.
This is the first time such a tournament is being held. More than 80 athletes from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Tyva, Abaza, Abakan, Chernogorsk, Altai, Bograd and Ust-Abakan regions came to the competition.
Boys and girls aged 14-15 and 16-17 will compete over two days.
