The fuel supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be colored to prevent its resale

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will oblige suppliers of fuel for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to add dye to it in order to combat its illegal resale, reported on the department’s website.

“Marking makes it possible to identify and track fuel purchased exclusively for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and reduces the possibility of its illegal sale,” the message says.

Gasoline supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be colored green, and diesel – red. Fuel with added dye cannot be diluted so that the color disappears completely, the Ukrainian military emphasized. Deliveries of colored fuel are expected to begin as early as next week. The price of fuel will not change.

Previously Western media wrote, that the United States is much more concerned about the problem of corruption in Ukraine than it publicly admits, fearing that a number of Western allies may refuse to support Kyiv because of it. The White House, Politico noted, wants to put pressure on Kiev to strengthen the fight against corruption, “not least” because we are talking about dollars coming from the United States.

President Vladimir Zelensky said that Reznikov should leave his post because the department needs “new approaches and other formats of interaction with both the military and society.” The New York Times, citing sources in the office of the Ukrainian president, wrote that Reznikov’s resignation from the post of minister could be related to corruption in concluding defense contracts – the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not receive military materials worth almost $1 billion on time.
