A global survey on the need for probation or resocialization of former prisoners was conducted by specialists in Russian colonies. The results of this survey were announced on Friday at the Ministry of Justice at a meeting on measures to implement the law “On Probation.”
As MK learned, FSIN employees interviewed about 280 thousand prisoners. About 80 thousand of them said they would need probation measures after their release. Approximately 3,000 people have already entered into an agreement that allows them to be resocialized. Prisoners named employment, medical care (including insurance and treatment), social and psychological assistance as the priority measures needed.
By the end of the year, approximately 3,000 employees of the Ministry of Justice will undergo training before starting to work with released prisoners. In addition, to implement the law “On Probation”, several important regulations will be adopted in the near future.
