The FSB announced the disclosure of the actions of the US special services using the iPhone

The FSB uncovered a US intelligence campaign using a virus on Apple mobile devices. About it informs department press office.

“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, together with the Federal Security Service of Russia, uncovered an intelligence operation by American intelligence services carried out using mobile devices from Apple (USA),” the report says.

According to the FSB, several thousand smartphones of the brand were infected. In addition to Russian users, the special service also found a virus on the gadgets of foreign subscribers using SIM cards registered with diplomatic missions and embassies in Russia. We are talking about infecting the devices of employees of the diplomatic departments of NATO countries and the post-Soviet space, as well as Israel, Syria and China.

FSB officials considered the information received evidence of Apple’s close cooperation with the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States. The company’s assurances about the confidentiality of users’ personal data are not true, the FSB concluded.

The department said that Apple allows US intelligence agencies to exercise control over persons of interest to the White House, including their foreign policy partners, and its own citizens.

At the end of March, Kommersant, citing sources informedthat by the end of the month, employees of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation were instructed to get rid of Apple gadgets. Such a decision, the interlocutors of the newspaper say, was made for security reasons: allegedly Apple gadgets are more susceptible to hacking and espionage by Western countries compared to other smartphones.

The Kremlin was unable to confirm this information. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov notedthat for official purposes, employees of the Administration are prohibited from using any smartphones, regardless of the installed operating system.
