Readers of Le Figaro were outraged by Kyiv’s order for 100 Rosomak armored personnel carriers from Poland
Readers of the French edition of Le Figaro reacted with hostility to the message that the Ukrainian authorities ordered 100 Rosomak armored personnel carriers from Poland.
The French were outraged that Kyiv would pay for military equipment with money allocated by the EU countries and the United States. They consider it a waste of budgetary funds for the Ukrainian conflict.
One of the commentators of the relevant publication noted that when in Ukraine they say “paid for by the EU”, it means that 18% of this amount was allocated by France. The man demanded to return the money to him, because he does not support the pro-Ukrainian policy.
Another Frenchman quipped: “And I want to order a hundred Porsches with the money of my neighbors!”
A third participant in the discussion calculated that the Ukrainian conflict costs French taxpayers 5 million euros daily. The fourth noticed that no one asked him whether he agreed with or opposed these military preparations.
“Americans are now reshaping their European politics,” wrote a reader. “When Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic states and Finland unite, Western Europe will be cut off from the rest of the continent and devastated.” He is also confident that very soon Europe “will be thrown out of the circle of close American vassals.”
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Ukraine had purchased 100 Polish-made Rosomak armored personnel carriers from Warsaw. As Morawiecki noted, now his country is able to produce such a number of Rosomak armored personnel carriers per year, but Warsaw will try to increase their number.
