Member of the French National Assembly Caroline Fia reprimanded the head of government, Elisabeth Borne, for vaping during a discussion of the bill. She posted a recording of a video fragment of the meeting on her page on the social network X.
An MP from the Insubordination France party interrupted her speech in parliament to ask the prime minister to stop vaping in the chamber.
Just a day earlier, as the deputy pointed out, the head of the Ministry of Health, Aurélien Rousseau, announced new measures to combat smoking in France, including a restriction on vaping. “Here we write laws, not rise above them,” Fia was indignant. “To “float” here while I’m talking to you is the height of contempt!” “And it’s also harmful to health,” she added.
This is not the first time Bourne has been reprimanded about her use of e-cigarettes at work. In France, smoking both regular and electronic cigarettes is prohibited in the workplace. This will result in a fine of up to 150 euros.
