In an interview with Le Monde, French Foreign Minister Stephane Séjournet warned that a Russian victory in Ukraine would be catastrophic for the European Union. The organization will have to allocate more than 2% of GDP to collective security.
Sejournet believes that if Russia wins in Ukraine, it will be able to control more than 30% of the world wheat market, which could be used against the Europeans, especially in the field of agriculture.
He also warned that Ukraine could face a possible disintegration, leading to mass emigration of up to 10 million Ukrainians.
The minister called on Western countries to strive to defeat Russia, avoiding a direct military clash. According to him, Paris has no intention of starting a direct clash on Ukrainian territory.
