The fourth open recruitment for the cosmonaut corps has been announced – Kommersant

State Corporation “Roscosmos” and its member of the Cosmonaut Training Center. Yu.A. Gagarin gave start the fourth open recruitment for the cosmonaut corps. Applications and necessary documents are accepted until October 30.

Selection criteria:

• age – up to 35 years;
• higher education in flight, engineering or scientific specialties;
• work experience in the specialty for at least three years;
• knowledge of English;
• weight – 50–90 kg;
• height in a standing position – 150-190 cm, height in a sitting position – 80-99 cm;
• hip width in a sitting position – 41 cm;
• transverse size of the shoulder region – up to 52 cm;
• chest girth – 94-112 cm;
• the distance between the corners of the armpits is up to 45 cm;
• foot length – up to 29.5 cm (46 shoe size).

In addition, Russians with foreign citizenship and a residence permit are not suitable for selection. The candidate should not have chronic diseases, he should be in good physical shape and have “the necessary level of development of professionally important psychological qualities.”

The last selections were held in 2012, 2018, 2021. The first two times, eight cosmonauts were selected, and the last time, four cosmonauts. There are currently 26 people in the cosmonaut corps.
