The Russian government estimated the creation of 4 high-speed railways (HSR) at approximately 11 trillion rubles. Kommersant reports this, citing a presentation of the infrastructure development strategy until 2030.
As stated in the material, the high-speed railway network, previously proposed by the head of state Vladimir Putin, will cost about 10.8 trillion rubles.
It is noted that the office of the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin did not comment on this information.
The publication also clarifies that the cost estimate is not accurate.
On August 17, Putin announced that travel time on the St. Petersburg-Moscow high-speed railway would be reduced from 4 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes.
Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov wrote that the emergence of a high-speed railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg will open new horizons for entrepreneurs.
