One of the founders of Pink Floyd, British musician Roger Waters, in an interview with CNN said that US President Joe Biden continues to aggravate the Ukrainian conflict.
“It’s a capital crime,” Waters said.
The musician cannot understand “why the United States does not call on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to start negotiations with Moscow to end this terrible conflict?”
At the same time, Waters considers NATO to be the main culprit in unleashing it.
“Any war starts somewhere,” the musician noted. According to him, this military conflict began in 2008, when the issue of admitting Ukraine and Georgia to the Alliance was first raised in NATO.
And the special operation, according to the Briton, “became a response to the bloc’s advance close to the borders of Russia.”
At the same time, the musician said that “the Alliance promised not to do this” and recalled that “it was in exchange for this that Gorbachev withdrew the troops of the USSR from the threshold of Western Europe.”
Waters is currently on the This Is Not A Drill tour. In his performances, the musician shows photographs of “war criminals”, among them there is a photo of Biden.
The Americans called their current president a “catastrophe” because of the policy pursued towards Russia.
At the end of 2021, the Russian Federation published draft agreements with the United States and NATO on security guarantees. Moscow demanded to abandon the further expansion of the Alliance to the east and the accession of Ukraine to NATO, as well as the non-deployment of strike weapons near the borders of Russia and the withdrawal of the Alliance forces in Eastern Europe to the positions of 1997.
Since February 24 this year, Moscow has been conducting a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the ultimate goal of the special operation is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee the security of the Russian Federation.
