The ex-chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Aseev, was sentenced by the Sovetsky District Court of Novosibirsk to four years of probation.
Recall that he was accused of illegally privatizing a cottage with damage of 45 million rubles.
“Aseev was found guilty, he was sentenced to four years of probation and a fine of 500,000 rubles. The trial period is three years,” the court noted.
During the court hearings, Aseev refused to admit his guilt and said that he would soon appeal the verdict.
According to the investigation, Aseev convinced the members of the Presidium of the SB RAS to make repairs and provide him with a cottage located in Akademgorodok of Novosibirsk. Further, Aseev used this building for official purposes.
