The youth team of the Fakel volleyball club in Novy Urengoy has found a new head coach. The team was headed by Artem Tokhtash, who previously played in the senior squad. This was reported on July 8 in the Yamal volleyball club.

Artem Tokhtash played for Fakel Novy Urengoy for four seasons – from 2013 to 2017. Here he won the 2017 Challenge Cup. In 2018, he ended his playing career and devoted himself to coaching. Now he returned to Yamal and became the head coach of the Novy Urengoy youth team.

“The offer to lead the Fakel youth team came as a surprise to me, after all, I don’t have much coaching experience. But we talked with the director of the club, Nikolai Kapranov, and came to an agreement. I am grateful to Fakel’s leadership for their trust and giving me a chance. I think the combination of great playing experience and coaching skills that I have already managed to get will help me in working with the team. First of all, I need to get to know the guys, make contact, make them accept me. We will work,” Tokhtash commented.

Recall that earlier the head coach of the youth team of the Fakel volleyball club was Roman Empolov – under his leadership, Yamal residents became champions youth league last season. Empolov left the post and headed adult composition of Novy Urengoy “Torch”.
