The Foreign Ministry will study the possibility of removing Russians from the Gaza Strip

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is looking for opportunities to evacuate Russians and citizens of CIS countries from the combat zone on the border of the Gaza Strip. About it reported official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on the department’s website.

“In connection with the sharp escalation of tension in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry is working on (including in an interdepartmental format) modalities for the possible evacuation of Russian citizens and citizens of CIS countries from the combat zone,” Zakharova emphasized.

She also recalled that Russia calls on Israel and Hamas to stop hostilities and begin negotiations. Without this step, according to Zakharova, “the situation will develop dramatically.”

According to the Foreign Ministry, there are currently about 400 Russians in the conflict zone. The agency cannot yet help them, since it is now impossible to get into the Gaza Strip.

Hamas began fighting against Israel on October 7. The militants attacked the army’s border units and entered Israeli populated areas, seizing military and civilian hostages. The Israel Defense Forces responded by launching Operation Iron Swords. Israel announced that the country had entered a state of war.

The total number of deaths, according to the latest data, is more than 3,000 people. Today, October 13, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported the death of about 1,850 people and more than 7,000 injured; in Israel, on October 11, it was reported that 1,300 were killed and about 3,300 were injured.
