The Foreign Ministry called the attempt on Malofeev an example of the “criminal nature” of Kyiv

The attempt on the life of the head of the Tsargrad group of companies, Konstantin Malofeev, prevented by the FSB of Russia, became another example of the “criminal nature” of the political leadership of Ukraine, according to comments Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

“The failed attempt on the life of K.V. Malofeev is another example of the deeply criminal nature of the Kiev regime, which does not disdain openly terrorist methods in suppressing dissent, adding to the long list of its heinous atrocities against civilian representatives of the media sphere,” the message says.

The Ukrainian side used the same scheme to blow up a car when organizing a terrorist attack in August 2022, when journalist Daria Dugina was killed, Zakharova added. According to her, the Armed Forces of Ukraine regularly began to fire at Russian media workers, and a reward is assigned for the murder of Russian war correspondents.

Zakharova also pointed to the inaction of relevant international human rights structures, which is perceived by Kiev as “carte blanche to continue this practice.” The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs admitted that such crimes can be committed with the help of “Western curators” of the Ukrainian authorities.

Earlier today Zakharova statedthat if representatives of Western countries remain silent in connection with the attempt on Malofeev, this will mean their tacit support for such crimes.

On preventing the assassination attempt on Malofeev FSB reported earlier today. According to the department, the organizer of the crime is one of the leaders of the so-called “Russian Volunteer Corps” (participates in hostilities against Russian troops on the side of Ukraine) Denis Kapustin (known under the pseudonym Nikitin). It is noted that Kapustin lives in Ukraine and operates under the control of the SBU.

The FSB said that the attackers wanted to blow up Malofeev’s car with homemade explosives. A similar terrorist attack was previously carried out by agents of the Ukrainian special services against journalist Daria Dugina, the department reminded. After the publication of the FSB, Malofeev said that everything was fine with him. He also expressed the hope that those responsible for the murder of Dugina would be arrested.
