NATO’s crisis management exercise to “test mechanisms for decision-making and consultation at the strategic politico-military level” will begin on March 9 and end six days later on March 15.
The press service of the alliance said that “civilian and military headquarters in NATO member countries, as well as in Sweden and Finland” will be involved.
Deployed forces will not participate in the exercises, the alliance promised. This is the development, as indicated in the statement, of complex responses to “a complex civil-military scenario in a hybrid environment.”
Such exercises are held annually by the North Atlantic bloc, the participation of headquarters in Sweden and Finland, countries preparing to officially join NATO, will be a novelty.
