The Festival of Physical Education and Sports of Veterans has been held annually since 2009 and is rightfully considered one of the most anticipated and sought-after sports events among veterans.
The first stage, as usual, was the individual freestyle ski race at distances of 1 km for women and 2 km for men. Women aged 55 and over were allowed to participate, as well as men aged 60 and over who were in good physical condition.
The winners and prize-winners received diplomas and medals. According to the results of the competition in the individual championship among women, Olga Kuzmina (Morion) took the first place, Elena Bezmaternykh (LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez) took the second place, Nadezhda Bragina (Sibur-Khimprom) took the third place. Among men, Sergey Shipiguzov (Sibur-Khimprom) won the first place, Arkady Yaroslavtsev (Uralchem) took the second place, Andrey Pechenitsyn (LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez) won the third place.
Ahead of the veterans is the second stage – a tourist rally, which is planned to be held in the summer. The final stage of the sports festival will be the combined relay race, which is scheduled for autumn. It will include competitions in general physical training.
