The builders have completed the sliding of the first span of the left road part of the Crimean bridge, the press service of the Russian government reported.
“Today, specialists have successfully completed the sliding of the first span of the left road part of the bridge over the Kerch Strait. The movement of cars and buses on the right side of the Crimean bridge has been restored,”— quoted press service of the words of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.
He also noted that the method of transverse sliding was used during the installation, which made it possible to complete the work in the shortest possible time. It is planned to complete the sliding of the span in February.
In total, four spans need to be replaced on the left side of the road section.
In October 2022, on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge, according to the TFR, the special services of Ukraine blew up a truck, damaging the roadway and provoking a fire on a nearby train with fuel.
The installation of new spans began on 7 November. Structures weighing more than 300 tons each were delivered from the Taman coast to the installation site, then using special platforms and jacks established to the design position.
