Registration of the first ventilator for liquid breathing in the Russian Federation will begin in 2024. This was reported in the press service of the Shvabe holding of the state corporation Rostec.

The new device can be used during the treatment of newborns. Now scientific research is being carried out and an experimental sample is being developed. The press service clarified that the registration of the devices will take place in several stages. First, documents will be submitted for gas ventilation with an attachment for bronchoalveolar lavage – that is, the introduction of a solution into the bronchi and lungs. This is planned to be done in 2024.

The device is being developed at the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after V.I. E.S. Yalamova. Colleagues from the Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after V.I. Kulakov and the Advanced Research Foundation also participate in the development.

There are already some successes. In the course of development work, original technical solutions have already been applied. They will ensure the safety of the patient during artificial liquid ventilation of the lungs and avoid barotrauma.
