The first Russian hockey championship among the deaf will take place in the Saratov region

The Minister of Sports of the Saratov Region, Oleg Dubovenko, supported the proposal of the President of the Saratov Federation of Deaf Sports, Alexander Chernov, to hold the Russian Ice Hockey Championship among deaf people in Saratov. The regional Ministry of Sports reported this.

“These competitions are held annually under the auspices of the All-Russian Sports Federation for Deaf Sports and the Federal Center for Sports Training of the Ministry of Sports of Russia,” the statement says.

Despite the fact that such competitions have not yet been held in Saratov, the Minister of Sports expressed his readiness to support the initiative and emphasized the importance of holding such events for the development of hockey among deaf people and motivation for playing sports among the population.

Dubovenko also invited Chernov to become a member of the working group preparing for this sporting event in order to ensure the successful holding of the competition at a high level.
