The first physical games in Yamal opened in Salekhard with a laser show

The first phygital games “Future of Yamal” started in Salekhard. At three venues at once, athletes compete in classical and computer sports. The official opening took place on December 23, the administration of the district capital reported.

Players will compete for victory for two days in three disciplines: hockey, football, basketball. Phygital is a large-scale multi-sport game at the intersection of sports and new technologies. According to the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the competition opened with a laser show.

The hockey tournament takes place in the Ice Palace, basketball players compete in the Aviator sports complex, football players in the GOVD gym. The Ice Palace also has a fan zone where anyone can play on an NHL console, the Salekhard administration’s department for physical education and sports notes.
