In 2023, Belgorod athletes brought about 470 medals from all-Russian and international competitions. Currently, the region is among the top five in the country in terms of sports development, Gladkov emphasized. Leader – in the All-Russian Sports Society “GTO” rating. And almost 60% of residents engage in physical education and sports on a regular basis. New sports facilities are opening in the region, including the Vershina center for adaptive physical education and sports, the Lilac center for rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline jumping and sports acrobatics, and others.
