The first electronic textbook of the Korean language appeared in Russia

Specialists of the Moscow City Pedagogical University have developed the first electronic textbook of the Korean language in Russia. The author of the textbook is Lyudmila Voronina, associate professor at the Institute of Foreign Languages ​​of the Moscow State Pedagogical University.

The teacher first analyzed digital English and Korean teaching aids, then, with the help of programmers, translated five volumes of the “My Korean” manual into electronic format. And only after that she began to create a unique Russian electronic textbook on the Korean language.

With the help of a special interactive technology, students who study this language can write letters on electronic boards without much strain on their arm muscles. This is especially important because when drawing Korean letters with ink, beginners usually have to exert a lot of physical strength, because in copybooks they need to write each of the forty letters of the Korean alphabet at least a hundred times, and also master the connection of syllables with each other.

— The textbook is presented on the tablet. The stylus allows you to draw letters endlessly, and the teacher can see in real time what stage of learning the student is at. The transition to the next step is possible when the letter is displayed correctly, – explained Lyudmila Voronina.

The textbook has such a feature as hypertextuality, which allows students to instantly move from one section to another, and also, if they click on a certain letter of the alphabet in a special way, hear how it is pronounced.

As noted by the Department of Education and Science of the city of Moscow, in recent years the number of students who want to enter the specialty “Oriental and African Studies” at Moscow State Pedagogical University has increased by 25%. This is due to the rapid development of the economy of the eastern countries, which makes it attractive to study, including the Korean language.
