In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the regional championship among flying skiers was held on the updated K-20 ski jump. 49 athletes under the age of 14 took part in the competition. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.
Minister of Sports of the Sakhalin Region Artem Podshivalov, flying skier Alexander Bazhenov and representative of the contractor Alexander Kirsanov opened the renovated K-20 ski jump. This facility is an important place for jumpers. Its renovation was completed last year. But the facility was fully launched in this, and now it is available for training all year round.
At the competition, a new flight distance record of 22.5 meters was set, achieved by Eldar Korzhan and Diana Ermolenko. Both athletes noted that high concentration was necessary to achieve this result, but the springboard is good and allows you to feel the jump technique.
In the category born in 2011 and younger, Sofia Bekhtereva and Philipp Smirnov took gold medals, Marina Demidova and Maxim Sazonov got silver medals, and Anna Goncharova and Timofey Likhtar became bronze medalists.
Athletes born in 2009-2010 Diana Ermolenko and Eldar Korzhan took first place, Aysezim Zholdubaeva and Yana Bazhenova – second, Valeria Dmitrieva and Timofey Khodosov – third. The winners received special prizes and gifts.
