The first ceremony of awarding the laureates of the OGANESSON Prize took place in Moscow

The OGANESSON Prize was established in April 2023 by the scientific director of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions named after. G.N. Flerov Academician Yuri Oganesyan and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

The prize is awarded annually for significant achievements in theoretical and experimental research in the field of physics, chemistry, biology and applied problems, as well as for creative activities in the field of education and popularization of science. The first laureates of the prize were two Russians – Mikhail Shvydkoy and JINR scientist Vasily Semin, as well as two foreign scientists: Mexican Ana Maria Cetto Kramis – professor from the University of Mexico and Valeria Pershina from the Institute of Heavy Ions (Germany, Darmstadt).
